The Art of Healing
My studio has been designed as a sanctuary where you can slow down and reconnect with your inner self through creativity. I invite you to join me in a space dedicated for enjoyment, offering workshops that are as calming and inspiring for all skill levels.
The studio has been born from a passion for creativity and mental health. Whilst art is often not top of the list for self-care there is a surprising link between creativity and mental health. It can be difficult to incorporate creativity into daily life, especially as much of out daily routines are goal orientated tasks. We pressurise ourselves to make something good, that we show others or even sell for a profit. However creavity
Artistic activities have been shown to lower depression, burnout and anxiety. It can boost our imune system and lead to personel discovery and help us uncover hidden emotions.
Whilst I am not a qualified art therapist I am a fully qualified practising therapist and using art is still of benefit. It can act as a non verbal outlet for complex emotions, lower stress hormones such as cortisol and induce a mindful "flow state" that can improve mental well being. When you leave the studio after making something beautiful it builds a sense of joy, pride and personal achievement.
With group workshops social connections are built which can combat loneliness, build community and allow us the opportunity to meet like minded people.
